My favorite restaurant from my trip to Bozeman! I loved the fact that they incorporated veggies from their garden in every dish. The little star green salad, recommended by our server, was light super interesting with the shiso vinaigrette. We ordered the butter garlic tagliatelle and black dog farm roasted duck for our entrees. Both were unique and tasty - but like other reviews have pointed out, they were a bit salty. I also found it interesting that the chef added a decent amount of Asian seasonings to various dishes (fish sauce, miso, soy, shiso..) but the food didn't taste fusion at all, just added great flavors. It's been a few days and I still miss the food! Will definitely come back next time when I am in Bozeman.

Absolutely delicious! I had the fried carrots with cashews and flathead lake trout rice bowl with wild mushroom and brussel sprouts. Exceeded my expectation!! Highly recommend. The rooftop is very cute too.

Very cute spot and the food was delicious. The open kitchen is great to watch things being cooked and plated. If you're a local or just visting you should stop in and have a meal here. We had the sourdough toast, burger, trout tacos, and cookie. All of which was great. We had expected the cookie to be larger, more cast iron cookie size, but would still would get it again. Everything that came out of the kitchen was beautifully plated and the culinary team was professional and looked to really care about their work. The restaurant is family owned and sources most ingredients locally which is great. The one thing I would say is I wish their ketchup wasn't made in house. Homemade ketchup is just something to skip or at least have an organic Heinz option(Revelry does this). The homemade was liquidy and tasted of barbecue sauce, not ketchup. I may well be the minority in this though. They do have a credit card fee ('service fee') of I think 3% from math memory. I didn't see it listed as something on the menu but may have missed it. Small rant... I never understand why places that do this don't just raise their pricing in general and not show that fee. Others in BZN have been adding that fee on as well and feels off since the vast majority of transactions are on a credit card; just plan for it in your pricing like you plan for food and labor costs. Such small things, because the place is great and so is the atmosphere. We will certainly be back (maybe BYOK*) and am glad to have found another great spot around town! *ketchup

If I could give it more stars, I would. The food was some of the best I had during my trip to Montana. They source their food locally and rotate the menu seasonally. The fried carrots app and spring salad changed my life. The tagliatelle was divine. The ravioli was very buttery and wasn’t as garlic-forward as I was expecting but still delicious. We absolutely loved our meal. Try to get a reservation, especially on the rooftop patio if it’s the appropriate time of year. Peak vibes. Worth mentioning, the building is beautifully designed and constructed. The materials and layout are functional and pleasant yet surprising. The plants surrounding the rooftop provide a gorgeous ambiance. And the art on display from local artist Anna Patterson perfectly depict the gorgeous Montana vistas. Don’t miss dining at Little Star Diner!

Awesome food that is all local and farm table! Our serve Caroline was wonderful and attentive. She gave great recommendations and just seemed to genuinely enjoy what she does. I have the duck breast, which was excellent! My husband had the tacos and the fried carrots. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Don't miss this great place to eat. Chef John took care of us at the bar and the staff was friendly. Watched them prep our meal in front of our eyes. Falafel was GREAT. Menu changes weekly and it is expertly thought out. My wife and I had a chilled wine called cosmic blend which pairs perfectly with Vietnamese-American green garlic noodles served with pork belly. I had to order the pita bread and hummus to try and it was also a star. Finally found a great place to eat downtown! Check out the rooftop area as it's great when the weather permits. Make reservations!

I have the privileged life of having eaten all over this continent and I am humbled to say that this is one of the best meals of my entire life. Top 3 maybe. I arrived adter a day of hiking and still in my gear yet received exceptional service with a smile. A pleasant, communicative, and accomodating wait staff combined with a menu created by someone who understands food better than any celebrity chef you've heard of in a nice, yet not demanding, atmosphere delivered the most sublime dining experience I've had in years. Make this stop.

Very comfortable and warm atmosphere. Service is excellent. The menu is somewhat seasonal which makes for an interesting experience at different times of the year. Food quality and presentation is second to none. A very enjoyable restaurant for a couple or a larger party.
